What is our NBS service?

The National Benchmarking Service (NBS) is a partnership approach to providing critical data on the performance of your leisure facility. The partnership brings together the expertise of Sport Industry Research Centre (SIRC) at Sheffield Hallam University and Leisure-net to work on behalf of Sport England and provide a seamless, rigorous and valuable collection and analysis of participation, financial and customer satisfaction data.

  • Leisure-net Solutions are Sport England’s recommended fieldwork supplier
  • All researchers used by Leisure-net Solutions are fully qualified interviewers and have 24/7 contact with a supervisor
  • All Leisure-net NBS teams work to the recommended NBS timetable – covering all opening hours over 9 consecutive days
  • New NBS Static Benchmarks have been calculated and are ready for reporting

Full NBS

For the Full NBS report you will need to purchase or organise a user survey and complete a financial return.

  • Presents and analyses performance of your centre
  • Identifies customer access and satisfaction levels
  • Identifies catchment area maps
  • Reports financial and utilisation performance
  • Cost – £850 plus Vat
  • Paperless – £750 plus Vat

Efficiency

For the Efficiency report you will need to complete a financial return.

  • Presents and analyses financial and utilisation performance of your centre
  • Identifies catchment area maps
  • Cost – £300 plus Vat

Effectiveness

For the Effectiveness report you will need to purchase or organise a user survey and complete a management return.

  • Presents and analyses customer access and satisfaction performance of your centre
  • Identifies catchment area maps
  • Reports basic utilisation performance
  • Cost – £670 plus Vat
  • Paperless – £620 plus Vat
